Villa De Weck

Geneva

This project is new house, situated in Geneva, facing the Lemanus lake.

The building is on two floors glass box covered by a massive detached stone roof. In this beautiful landscape, a new dwelling place has been formed, which is at once monumentally serene and vibrant, empty of decoration but full of spiritual vitality. The predominant material is glass and  stone.
Protected by this new massive sloping roof is the grand yet simple house with an open space plan.

In the master bathroom, everything is once again sculpted from stone: two carved wash-basins are placed on a shelf on the side of the fireplace, the curved bathtub stands like monolith, and the rounded contours of it reveal the stone’s sensual and enduring qualities.
